MAKO SLI-80
The Armari Mako SLI-80 exudes power, with the best hardware available. NVIDIA's GeForce 8800GTX 768MB, 680i motherboard, and an Intel Core2 Extreme will simply stomp everything that has risen before it. NVIDIA has possibly designed one of the best desktop motherboards in history. The NVIDIA designed nForce 680i motherboard has been engineered, to maximise the performance of the 8800GTX in SLI. The chipset can overclock the FSB to 2100MHz (525MHz quad pumped). The first thing you will notice about this graphics card is that NVIDIA has paid close attention to the heat and noise output and have designed a very effective cooler. We tested this system with two 8800GTX's in SLI mode, with all the effects turned on including HDR and AA. Using a Dell 30inch widescreen display, the panels' native resolution of 2560x1600, every game played was as smooth as silk. We were able to benchmark it in 3DMark and it scored approximately 16000 with a mildly overclocked Intel QX6700.
For the sound card we would only consider Creative’s X-Fi range, it can handle concurrently up to 128 3D sounds with out taxing the processor. If you play games with stereo headphones the sound quality is really stunning thanks to Creative’s clever virtual sound positioning technology.
Logitech is well known for there gaming products in this case the G15 Gaming Keyboard, using the backlit LCD display you can display information defined by you, be it in game or system info. Logitech’s G7 Laser mouse while cordless, it works. Keyboard and mouse options are very personal. We can recommend both as good alternatives.
Viewsonic’s 20.1” VX2025wm panel is one of the lowest cost widescreen 20” panels of this quality with a screen resolution of 1680 by 1050 and contrast ratio of 800:1.
The Thermaltake Shark VA7000BWA shows of your hardware while maintaining EMI shielding, its size makes it very easy to work with, containing no sharp edges. This case provides enough air flow to keep this NVIDIA SLI system cool and quiet.
