The Magnetar CX-SE is designed for heavy duty multithreaded work, such as 3D rendering. It features two Intel® Xeon® 5100 series dual core processors or two Xeon® 5300 series quad core processors. Intel’s new Workstation architecture, features technologies to significantly increase throughput and reduce bottlenecks. This includes a high speed 1.06GHz or 1.33GHz Independent Front Side Bus per processor and 4 branch DDR2 Fully buffered DIMM memory channels.

The Magnetar QX features additional cooling capacity to support the top end Xeon® X5355 processor. The Magnetar QX was recently reviewed in both Digit January 2007 issue and online here. In 3ds max, the QX rendered our benchmark scene in 4 hours 50 minutes over 80% faster than the Magnetar QS, and was over 50% faster in other multithreaded applications.

The Magnetar CX-SE and QX both excel in time critical production environments using multithreaded applications, increasing productivity.

The Magnetar QS, winner of Digit Magazine 2D Workstation Group Test and Best Buy Award (November 2006). It features Intel's Core2 Extreme QX6700 @ 2.66GHz, their first quad core processor made for the desktop. Its performance is amazing, approaching that of two DC (dual core) Xeons. Intel has now taken the Xeon processors to the next level in performance by making them quad core, which are available in our Magnetar CX-SE and Magnetar QX.

The QS is supplied with 4GB of RAM (8GB max) and a 320GB hard drive. From the Digit review, the QS was up to 60% faster than the fastest Dual core processor in leading professional 2D and 3D applications; 40% faster than other workstations with the E6700 chip, when using the After Effects 7 rending with the Nucleo multi-core plug-in.

The Magnetar QS comes in a stylish Antec Solo case, as does the QS-Silent version which features more extensive noise reduction technology. At Armari the quality is a priority, every machine is extensively stress tested so we know when it arrives it’s ready to work.

We believe that creative applications like Adobe After Effects 7, Photoshop, Maxon Cinema 4D suite, QuarkXPress and Premiere Pro, will excel on our machines running on Intel's quad core CPU's, and therefore benefit most creative professionals.
