The Armari BrontaStor 4TE features a low power Intel Dual-Core ATOM 330 processor and up to 4x SATAII drives providing up to maximum storage capacity of 8TB using 2TB drives*. Powered by Open-e v6 Lite Special Edition, users may select between NAS or iSCSI JBOD or RAID (0,1,5,6) volumes with the outstanding performance and high end features the 64bit Open-e Operating Systems provides.
The BrontaStor 4TE also offers significantly faster data transfer rates from both NAS and iSCSI volumes compared to typical retail NAS boxes.
Open-e fully supports Windows, MAC, Linux and UNIX clients with secure user management, built in Anti-virus scanning for shared volumes and easy integration with existing Networks such as Windows Active Directory.
With on-board IPMI v2.0, the BrontaStor can easily be managed and controlled remotely.
This example configuration comes with 4x 1TB drives, which would provide 3TB of fault tolerant storage using RAID-5. If you wish to use your own hard drives, just customise this system and remove the drives, to make a very affordable barebones.
Two BrontStor 4TE servers can be set up to provide on the fly data replication over LAN, providing high availabily for critical applications.

The example configuration gives a SiSoft Sandra Drive Index score of 84MB/sec when accessing an iSCSI volume over a single Gigabit link and all 4 disks configured as a RAID-5 Volume. (client system was an Armari Magnetar SDX Workstation).
The operating power consumption of this configuration is between 50-60Watts
