The Armari Magnetar® F-series, is our new family of professional workstation systems that cater for the full range of DCC applications.

The Magnetar F3e is fast, but the F3e KO is faster. In fact its up to 25% faster than an equivalently configured F3e in creative applications. Using selected batches of Intel K series processors, each special edition KO workstation features an enhanced CPU clock speed and the very latest in high speed solid state storage technology, delivering up to a staggering 540MB/sec for sequential transfers and up to 65,000 IOPs in random I/O.

As this is a workstation designed for professional use, everything is kept within sensible limits and designed to provide many years of high performance yet reliable and stable computing. To help maintain low temperatures and low noise, the processor in the KO is protected by a high end liquid cooling system. This is very different from the low cost, off the shelf kits, with more than twice the cooling capacity and using the latest micro channel design cooling block and long life high flow pump. The coolant used in this system is also non-toxic and non-conductive.

To ensure stability, each system is run through a series of comprehensive benchmarks and tests, which includes a full 48Hr 100% load CPU+GPU burn-in. The software tools we use for this is able to generate a load which is some 10-20% higher than even the most stressful DCC application can generate.
